What Portotônico means to us

It all started with a simple question: “What is this? And why don’t we have it at home??”

It wasn’t the first time either of us had enjoyed a traditional portonic, sitting in a rural park in Portugal, eating olives like it was our job. (We were on vacation, so…it technically was?)

But it was the first time we had shared one together, and it immediately felt like a new twist on an old ritual—our friendship had stretched across years and countries, but it always came back to the two of us choosing to laugh and share a drink together.

The drink was really good. The vibes were even better. And we wanted to spread the word.

Our journey comes from an honest place. It represents an honest appreciation for Portuguese winemaking, right down to being made and bottled in the famous Douro region of Portugal.

It’s a vision fuelled by honest passion—that desire to share the perfect drink you discovered while traveling with everyone you love back home.

But most of all, it’s about bottling a feeling: the power of choosing to make space for yourself and your best friends. Choosing connection over distraction. Giving yourself the gift of slowing down and taking a beat.

We think that’s worth celebrating with an effortlessly effervescent drink.
